Privacy Policy
The "Smart Plus" Privacy Policy was updated in March 2025.
Thank you for using "Smart Plus". We attach great importance to the protection of your privacy and personal information and strictly abide by the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Singapore and relevant laws and regulations. This privacy clause is designed to inform you about how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information, as well as the rights you enjoy.
"Smart Plus" is an application developed by Shanghai MXCHIP Information Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MXCHIP") for controlling and managing smart home devices. Please read our privacy policy carefully before using the "Smart Plus" application and its services. You can also view this statement at any time in the "Profile" -> "About Us" -> "Privacy Policy" section of the "Smart Plus" application.
I. How We Collect and Use Your Information
The purpose of collecting and using your personal information is to provide you with products and services. You have the right to choose whether to provide us with personal information. In most cases, however, if you do not provide the necessary information, we will not be able to provide you with the corresponding services.
1. Account Information
To use the "Smart Plus" service, you need to register a "Smart Plus" account. We will collect your username and password, which are used to log in to the "Smart Plus" for identity verification and obtain corresponding access rights. We will also collect your email address, which is used to activate your account during registration, retrieve your forgotten password if necessary, and verify your identity when changing your password to ensure that the operations are performed by you. The above information is securely stored on our servers in an encrypted form and transmitted between the server and your mobile device.
If you do not provide the "Smart Plus" account information, you will not be able to use the "Smart Plus" service.
We also collect the user nickname and avatar information you provide to display a more friendly user image for you.
2. Device Connection and Management Information
In order to discover and connect smart devices to your home network and bind them to your account, we need to collect and use the following information:
1. WLAN network information: SSID, WLAN password, MAC address of the router
2. Bluetooth information: MAC address of the Bluetooth
3. Smart device information: device model, device MAC address, device serial number, device ID
4. Mobile device information: mobile phone model, operating system version, screen size and resolution, region and language settings, hardware identifier of the mobile phone
The WLAN network information, Bluetooth information, and mobile device information will only be used locally on the mobile phone and smart devices and will not be transmitted to the server.
In order to organize and manage your devices properly, we may collect information such as your home and room information, as well as the personalized name information of the devices you provide.
3. Device Control and Monitoring Information
In order to control your smart devices and monitor and display their operating status to you, we need to collect and use the following information:
1. Smart device information: device model, device MAC address, device IP address, device serial number, device ID, device location
5. Device operation information: switch status, operation parameters, alarms, and faults
For the following types of smart devices, we may also collect specific device operation information:
a) Lighting and electrical equipment such as bulbs, switches, and sockets: device power consumption
b) Environmental adjustment appliances such as air conditioners, heaters, fans, dehumidifiers, and humidifiers: environmental temperature and humidity information collected by device sensors; power consumption information, etc.
c) Health appliances such as air purifiers and water purifiers: air and water quality, water consumption, etc. collected by device sensors
d) Bathroom appliances such as smart toilets, bathroom heaters, and warm air blowers: environmental temperature and humidity information collected by device sensors; water and power consumption information
4. Device Sharing Information
We support sharing your devices with the users you specify for use, enabling you to control the same device in the same way and view device information and operating status. For this purpose, we will collect the user accounts and the information of the shared devices.
5. Smart Scene Information
We support automatically controlling the operation of devices under specific conditions you set. In order to achieve these smart scenes, we may collect and use the following information:
1. The trigger conditions and logic of the smart scenes you set
6. The region, geographical location, and time zone information of you and your devices to obtain local weather, time, and other information.
7. Information collected by your independent sensors or sensors embedded in smart devices
6. Application and Device Upgrade
In order to keep "Smart Plus" and your smart devices running in the best condition and provide you with the latest features, we will periodically upgrade the "Smart Plus" application and the firmware of your smart devices. To implement the upgrade function, we will collect the following information:
1. Smart device information: device firmware version number, device model, device MAC address, device IP address, device serial number, device ID, device location
8. Mobile device information: version number of the "Smart Plus" application, mobile phone model, operating system version, region, and language settings.
II. Storage of Your Personal Information
In accordance with relevant Singaporean laws and regulations, your personal data will be stored on servers located within Singapore. We adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encryption and access control) to protect your information and prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We will only retain your information for the period required to achieve the purposes described in this privacy clause, unless the law requires a longer retention period.
III. How We Share Your Information with Third Parties
We use some products and services provided by third parties in "Smart Plus". These products and services may exist in the form of cloud server docking, SDK and API calls, or plugins. MXCHIP selects third parties with strict personal information protection for cooperation and reaches agreements on data protection and processing with them. However, the "Smart Plus" privacy policy does not apply to these third-party services. MXCHIP reminds you to read the privacy policies of third parties carefully.
We promise not to sell your personal information to third parties. However, in the following cases, we may share or disclose your information:
1. We use the location service of your mobile phone system: Location information is used for weather services to obtain local weather and implement push services through Accuweather. You can refer to the Accuweather privacy policy.
9. AWS cloud service: We use AWS cloud service components to manage your smart devices. AWS cloud services may obtain the unique identifier of your mobile device, the SSID of the WLAN network, and network name information. You can refer to the AWS Cloud Platform Legal Statement and Privacy Policy.
10. Push notification service: The iOS system uses the APNs push notification service, and the Android system uses the FCM push notification service. Messages will be pushed to your mobile phone in cases such as device failure, device sharing, device deletion, and account login from a different location. For this reason, the push notification service platform may collect information such as the unique identifier of your mobile phone. You can refer to the iOS privacy policy and the Google Legal Statement and Privacy Policy.The pushed messages will be displayed in the message center of the application or the mobile phone notification center. You can turn off the "Smart Plus" notification push in the notification center of the mobile phone system settings. After turning it off, you will no longer receive the above-mentioned message notifications, which may cause inconvenience to your normal use in certain situations.
11. Tencent Application Crash Analysis Log Service: We use Tencent's Bugly service. When the application crashes abnormally, the key program operation logs will be uploaded to the Bugly server for analysis and repair to improve the "Smart Plus" application and make it serve you more stably. The data we upload does not contain any of your personal information. You can refer to the Bugly SDK Privacy Protection Statement.
12. com.tencent.smtt (TBS; Tencent Browser; Tencent X5 Browser): We use the TBS Tencent browsing service function to provide users with browser browsing functions. For this purpose, we may collect your mobile phone device identifier and device information. You can refer to the TBS Developer Service Agreement.
IV. Your Rights
1. Application Permissions
The "Smart Plus" application requires your permission to obtain the call permissions of the mobile phone device to collect the necessary information and complete specific functions.
1. Location permission: Used to determine your geographical location, obtain local weather information and display it in the application, and trigger the correct automated intelligent strategies at the same time.
13. Camera permission: Used to scan the QR code on the device body when manually adding a device.
14. Photo album reading permission: Used to select the specified picture from the photo album when you set your avatar.
15. Bluetooth permission: Used to automatically search for nearby Bluetooth-enabled devices when adding a device and transfer device information and local WLAN information via Bluetooth.
16. Message permission: Used to push app notifications, alarms, and other messages to you.
17. Storage permission: Used to write the records during program operation, write records when the program encounters an exception, assist in investigating the cause of the exception, and improve the program design.
*For Android users, when you grant the Bluetooth permission, the location permission is also granted simultaneously. This is a design feature of the Android system.
We will request your permission when using the permission for the first time. You can also change your permission settings at any time in the application permissions of the mobile phone system settings. Disabling the application permission will cause the functions and services related to fail to operate normally. However, we will not prohibit you from using other functions of "Smart Plus" that are not related to this permission just because you refuse to grant the permission.
2. Accessing and Changing Your Personal Information
You can view and change your personal information at any time in the "Profile" -> "Profiles" section of the "Smart Plus" application;
You can also view and change device information, or unbind and delete devices in the "Home" -> "Devices" -> "Device Detail" section of the "Smart Plus" application;
You can also view, modify, and disable smart strategies in the "Smart" section of the "Smart Plus" application.
3. Deleting Your Personal Information and Revoking Consent
You can delete the personal data stored locally on your mobile phone by the "Smart Plus" application in the "Storage" section of "Application Management" in the mobile phone system settings. However, this will not stop the "Smart Plus" from continuing to collect your personal information during operation based on your consent.
You can uninstall the "Smart Plus" application on your mobile phone. The personal data stored locally on your mobile phone by the "Smart Plus" application will be deleted simultaneously during uninstallation. The "Smart Plus" will not continue to collect your personal data after you uninstall the application. However, the data stored on the server before uninstallation will continue to be retained until the period described in Chapter II of this statement.
You can delete your "Smart Plus" account in the "My" -> "Personal Settings" -> "Delete Account" section of the "Smart Plus" application. When deleting the account, the personal data and device data stored locally on your mobile phone by the "Smart Plus" application, as well as the personal data and device data stored on the "Smart Plus" server, will all be deleted and cannot be restored at your request. MXCHIP reminds you to consider carefully before choosing to delete your account.
You can also revoke your previous permission by "Turning off Permissions" in the permission list of the "Smart Plus" application in the mobile phone system settings. We will no longer collect and use your personal data. However, the data previously stored locally and on the server will continue to be retained. After you revoke your consent, "Smart Plus" may not be able to continue providing services that rely on the relevant data.
V. Personal Information of Minors
MXCHIP does not collect the personal information of minors. Therefore, "Smart Plus" will not provide services to minors without the consent of their legal guardians. If you are a minor under the age of 18, you need to obtain the consent of your legal guardian for this privacy policy.

For important matters such as changing or deleting personal information, we will require you to provide further information to confirm your identity. If you are not satisfied with our handling, you can report and file a complaint with the relevant network supervision department.
